❄️ January weather: Las Vegas in January is genuinely pleasant — highs around 57°F (14°C), clear skies, zero heat concerns. CES is the one major Las Vegas conference where you can comfortably walk outside. That said, hotels still sell out months in advance — 138,000 people is a city-sized event.
🚝 Las Vegas Monorail: The Westgate station is directly adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center. The monorail runs north-south along the east side of the Strip, connecting to MGM Grand, Bally's/Paris, Flamingo, Harrah's, and SLS. A day pass runs ~$15. This is one conference where the monorail is actually the primary transportation method.

How CES Is Different From Other Conferences

CES takes over the entire city — not just one hotel or one convention center. The LVCC is the main venue, but satellite events, press conferences, and partner suites spread across dozens of Strip hotels. The Las Vegas Monorail becomes the dominant transport since it runs along the Strip near most hotels.

The LVCC sits mid-Strip, between The Venetian/Palazzo to the south and the SAHARA/Resorts World to the north. Hotels directly adjacent to the LVCC are the Westgate (connected via a private entrance) and the Renaissance. Strip hotels within monorail distance cover a much wider area.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book for CES 2027?

As early as possible — ideally when CES registration opens in mid-2026. The Westgate fills up first since it's directly connected. Hotels within walking distance of the LVCC are gone within weeks of registration opening. Strip hotels book out within 2–3 months of the show.

Is CES open to the public?

No. CES is a trade-only event. You must have industry affiliation to register. Consumers cannot attend.

Is the Las Vegas Monorail worth buying a pass for CES?

Yes — more than any other Las Vegas conference. The monorail runs directly past the LVCC (Westgate station) and connects mid-Strip. A 3-day pass (~$35) pays for itself quickly when you're commuting between hotel suites, the LVCC, and The Venetian Expo multiple times daily.

Does CES take over The Venetian Expo too?

Yes. The Venetian Expo (formerly the Sands Expo) hosts CES Unveiled and various exhibitor events as part of CES week. If your agenda includes Venetian Expo events, staying at The Venetian or Palazzo is efficient.

Ready to Book?

Each hotel link goes directly to Expedia with January 5–10, 2027 pre-filled. The Westgate books out fastest — if it's available, grab it. If not, Renaissance or Embassy Suites are your next-best walkable options.
